Shipping Terms and Conditions
The health and well being of the Betta Fish is my top priority. Therefore, I reserve the right to hold the fish if the weather is above 90F and lower then 30F until the weather improves.
Where do you ship fish?
Currently I ship fish within the USA only. To ship outside the USA I would have to get an license/permit to export live animals.
What form of payment do you take?
What are my shipping choices?
I offer USPS Priority 1-3 Day shipping. This is the most affordable and has been recommended by fellow betta breeders.
Upon request I can also offer USPS Priority Mail Express as well as UPS 2 Day shipping.
Unfortunately I cannot guarantee a live animal with USPS. USPS Priority is a non-guaranteed service and all delivery times are estimates only. Packages scheduled to arrive in 1 to 3 days may arrive 5 days later. This is rare but does happen.
With UPS you may e-mail me (email@example.com) within an hour of receiving the fish with the clear photo of the deceased fish in the unopened bag. I will provide you with a refund for the cost of the Betta.
I do not offer returns for live fish. Buying a live animal is a commitment for the lifetime of the pet.
How do you ship fish?
Each fish will be fasted for 24 to 48 hrs prior to shipping. This will ensure that it will not produce more waste in the shipping bag that would pollute the shipping water. The fish will be double bagged securely with 1/3 water and 2/3 air. Do not be alarmed by the yellow tinted water. This is due to Tannins from Indian Almond leaves (from the catappa tree) which provides the Betta with many health benefits as it has anti-fungal and antibacterial properties. It also lowers the pH of the water. I will pack an extra almond leave in a separate bag that you may use in the Betta's new tank. You can place it into the tank directly or boil the leaves for a minute, leave to cool, and then add the water into the tank. The fish will then be placed in a box insulated with Styrofoam to help protect the fish from the outside temperatures and help in place by a packing material.
During shipping Bettas may become stressed and pale. If you bought a marble Betta then your fish may Marble (change color) slightly during shipping.
When do you ship fish?
I ship on Tuesdays.
